About Community Walks
Community Walks are self-organized walks that take place in different communities across Canada. Each Walk raises funds for World Partnership Walk, the largest fundraising event for global development in Canada.
If you have never taken part in World Partnership Walk or have been travelling to your nearest official Walk – this is your chance to step forward and make an impact in the lives of people living in some of the poorest parts of the world.
Starting a Community Walk is a rewarding way to lead by example and share your commitment to a more peaceful, prosperous and equal world. Unite your community, bringing your friends, family and colleagues together to be a part of the movement to end global poverty. We can achieve more together than we can alone.
How To Host a Community Walk
The below guide and toolkit have been created to assist you in your Walk planning and fundraising endeavors. Inside you will find tips and tools to get you started with help from AKFC along the way.
Every dollar we raise together brings hope to people and communities who need it the most. Donations made to World Partnership Walk support Aga Khan Foundation Canada’s programs in Africa and Asia – initiatives that enable women and men to lift themselves and their children out of poverty, creating strong, vibrant communities able to lead their own development.
